Career Workshop
This year, we will welcome Sašo Kočevar - a Founder and CEO of hfp consulting (DE) and a consultant Annika Lübbert from hfp consulting (DE) to host a profesional Career Workshop - "Providing evidence for the skills that stay with you"
Researchers preparing for their next career step inside or outside of academia are often unsure about transferable skills (employability skills) and how to provide evidence for these competencies from their own career track. We will use this interactive workshop to raise awareness of the individual skill sets of the participants and will provide a frame how to structure these. Additionally, participants will learn and apply a universal tool how to provide evidence for diverse transferable skills and assertively communicate this.
Goals
Participating researchers will:
- Increase the awareness of their own skill set
- Learn how to provide evidence for transferable skills in a structured way
- Strengthen their network within LS2

About hfp consulting

Valeriia Vartanova (University of Geneva)
My name is Valeriia and I am in 3rd year of my PhD journey. I study at the University of Geneva and the focus of my research is communication between key metabolic organs in the context of diabetes. I love combining fundamental and applied research and I am deeply passionate about innovations in the field of biomedical research. Hence, I am excited to contribute to the LS2 society, which connects Ph.D. students in life science from the whole of Switzerland. In my free time, I love to spend time with friends, doing yoga and skiing.
Joshua Tran (University of Geneva)
Joshua is a PhD candidate in the lab of Prof. Aurélien Roux at the University of Geneva. He is working on understanding the mechanisms of membrane remodeling by the ESCRT machinery using in vitro reconstitution and cryoET. He is passionate about protein-membrane biochemistry as well as accessibility in science. He enjoys bringing people from different backgrounds together to discuss science. Outside of the lab, he enjoys playing tennis, cooking, the outdoors, and traveling.
Elena Barletta (University of Zurich)
Elena is currently a 4th year PhD student at the Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF) and her project is focused on the identification and quantification of protein changes in allergic diseases using Mass Spectrometry-based Proteomics technologies. She holds an M.Sc. in Bioinformatics from the University of Geneva and the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB) where she studied protein post-translational modifications in the field of biomarkers discovery. In her free time, she is committed to different volunteering non-profit associations working to improve the social and practical integration of international students, representing their needs and rights. She also loves to watch movies, read classical novels, paint, and sing in the choir.
