Abstract Submission & Poster Prizes

**Abstract submissions are closed.**

**Update 21 December 2018: All presenters selected from abstracts have been informed by E-mail. All other abstracts will have a slot in the poster session at the meeting! All selected presenters may in addition show a poster.**

Registration deadline without poster is still open until 13.01.2019

*NEW IN 2019!*: Two dedicated poster sessions will take place on:

  • Thursday, 14th of February from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm. During the Jubilée Apero afterwards, posters can be continued to be viewed until 8.30 pm.
    • 5.30 pm-6.00 pm odd numbers, 6.00 pm-6.30 pm even numbers
  • Friday, 15th of February, 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm
    • 1.00 pm-1.30 pm odd numbers, 1.30 pm-2.00 pm even numbers

Infos for abstract submissions

  • Poster size is A0 (portrait format, height 120 cm, width 90 cm).
  • Poster submission is only possible after confirmed registration through our website. Please write your poster abstracts in English. Be careful with special characters, no copy-editing will be done after submission. The maximum abstract length is 250 words. All abstracts must be submitted via the online abstract submission system, incomplete submissions will not be considered.
  • Accepted abstracts will be published electronically but only abstract titles, authors, and affiliations will be printed in the final program book.
  • Abstracts submitted for posters may be selected for short oral presentations (approx. 15 min) as part of each symposium or for flash talks (5 min) by a scientific committee. If you do not wish to be selected for an oral presentation, please indicate in the appropriate checkbox on the abstract submission form.
  • If you are selected for an oral presentation, you will be contacted until the beginning of January.

4. The “Swiss Young Cell Biologist of the Year”, awarded by the LS2 section MCB to the best Cell Biology poster, which consists of a free registration to the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB) Meeting 2019, Dec 7-11, 2019, Washington DC and 1400 CHF of travel support to the meeting!

5. Swiss 3R Competence Center Poster Prize

By the Swiss 3R Competence Center (www.swiss3rcc.org)

The Swiss 3R Competence Center will award a prize for a poster presenting innovative contributions for the Replacement, Reduction or Refinement of animal experimentation (the principles of 3R). 

Posters will be evaluated by the 3RCC poster award Selection Panel based on a number of criteria including:

• Research Quality

• Impact on the 3Rs

• Presentation clarity of poster

6. The Physiology Poster Prize, awarded by the LS2 section Physiology and sponsored by the PHYM department of University of Geneva.

The poster award session will take place on Friday, 15th of February, from 4.30 pm to 5.15 pm in the main plenary hall.

Venue

The meeting will be held at the main plenary halls and in the foyer of the Irchel Campus (see the link below for instructions).

Accreditation

We will request the accreditation for continuous education in the field of animal experimentation by the Veterinary Offices with the abstracts that we will get for this conference. Abstracts will be treated confidentially.

During abstract submission, you're therefore asked to provide a short statement about the animal model used and how your project fulfills one or more of the 3R principles.
