Abstract Submission - now closed
Abstract format and submission:
- Maximum length is 250 words.
- Write your abstracts in English. Be careful with the special characters, no copy-editing can be done after submission.
- All abstracts must be submitted via the online abstract submission system, incomplete submissions will not be considered.
- Abstract submission is only possible after confirmed registration through our website.
- For confidentiality reasons, only abstract titles, authors, and affiliations will be available on the on-site and online program.
- All participants who submitted an abstract will have an option to bring a poster, independently of selection for an oral presentation. All posters exhibited on-site will automatically enter the poster prize competition. See more information below.
- New in 2026 - best talk prize at YSS! All abstracts selected for a talk at YSS will automatically enter this prize competition.
Options during registration:
- Mandatory: Select the Symposium for your poster. Please choose the symposium that best reflects your poster topic.
- Non-mandatory: Select your Preffered and Alternative Exhibition - these are aligned with our Sections and Intersections. This selection is important if your poster topic does not align with any of the Symposia.
- Your poster will automatically enter the competition for the best poster prize. The poster evaluation will be done by our members/collaborators from the specific Symposium/Section/Intersection. This year we have 3 collaborator organized Symposia, therefore some poster prizes will be aligned with the Symposia and some - with Exhibition topics.
- If you wish to be considered for a short talk in one of the parallel Symposia: select “OK for oral presentation in Symposium”
- If you wish to be considered for a short talk during the Young Scientists Satellite: select "Consider for Talk during the YSS".
Poster Format & Prizes
Poster size is A0 (portrait format, max height 120 cm x width 85 cm).
This year we will align prizes with Symposia topics, with our collaborators and partners giving poster prizes as well. Each Symposia will choose their Best Poster, giving 300 CHF prize (exception - Symposium organized by SSEP, they will give 500 CHF prize). Additionally, posters focusing on conceptual advance on a given topic by providing novel mechanistic insight will compete for FEBS Letters Poster Prize (200 EUR).
All talks presented at YSS will compete for Best Talk (Nikon camera + 100 CHF) and Second Best talk (200 CHF) prizes.
All posters will compete for the "Best poster design prize" (250 CHF) selected by a public vote on-site!
