Safety requirements for booth materials

The city of Zurich implemented a strict fire protection concept. According to this, only RF2 certified roll-ups and advertisement walls can be set up in the atrium of the campus Irchel.

RF2 means “flame-retardant material”. Carpets, roll-ups, structures, tablecloths and boards (not provided by the venue) must have a certificate according to VKF (Vereinigung der Kantonalen Feuerversicherungen) and classification according to SN / EN 13501-1. Please note that B1 certificates are not allowed anymore.

The representatives present at the booths should have these certificates at their disposal during the entire conference for possible review by the staff of the University of Zurich.

Material such as flyers, give-aways and small equipment (exhibits) or posters (up to A0) which are attached to the non-combustible poster boards of the University of Zurich do not require such a certificate. The University of Zurich also requires that all decorative materials (carpets, roll-ups, structures to build the stands… etc) do not block security exits.
