Personalized Health Talk
Personalized health aims to provide optimal medical care based on data collected on a person-specific basis. These datasets include "omics" and clinical data, but also other health-related data, for instance those collected by self-tracking devices. Personalized health has the potential to contribute to a more targeted health care and improved disease prevention. However, it also raises individual and societal questions, including those related to dealing with disease risks and uncertainties, data sharing and protection and costs of individualized treatments.
This short talk organized by the Forum for Genetic Research of the Swiss Academy of Sciences will give you a brief insight into the research on Personalized Health in Switzerland and some pointers towards societal questions that are linked to these developments.
